Mild binding edgewear only; rear inner hinge archivally mended, thus tight. Tight and handsome later printing of this oft-reprinted 1851 text that ranges from the Battle of Marathon in 490 B.C. in Greece to the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 -- but this "New and Enlarged Edition" contains a Part II containing accounts of eight more battles ranging from the Fall of Quebec (1759) to the Battle of Tsu-Shima (1905). .
